If you know me well, you’ll know I’m a bit of a goal-setting obsessive. And because it’s July 1, it’s a good time to take a look at the first 6 months of this year, what’s working and what’s not!
Lots of things haven’t quite gone the way I expected this year – and I don’t just mean the EU referendum (the ripple effect of which will continue for a very long time yet). But amid all those things that are out of control, we do at least have control over our dreams and what we’re aiming for. As David, Jeremy, Boris and the rest of us are finding, we may need to revise those goals now and then.
This morning, I’ve looked at some of my ideas for what I wanted to achieve, and ticked a few off, laughed at some others, and had a few new ideas. For example, I was totally into the idea of starting to blog again earlier this year. Now, I realise it’s not how I want to spend my time. So instead, my new goal – partly inspired by recent fractious stuff on Facebook – is:
Praise and share once a day on social media, gripe less and engage less with negative conversations!
