August 2018 – counting the days

My Kate Helm thriller The Secrets You HideIt’s been a very long time coming, but my ‘debut’ thriller, The Secrets You Hide, is almost ready to be published.

I went to the Theakstons Crime Festival in Harrogate posing with my new tote bag, featuring the gorgeous cover designed by Stuart Bache from BooksCovered.

Me, modelling my rather glam tote bag at Harrogate.

My fantastic publishers, Bonnier Zaffre, had a buzzy party at the festival with two books featured – and mine was one of them. It was such a thrill to see all those special advance ‘proof’ copies of the book in people’s hands.

Not only that, but they’d organised to have a sketch artist doing drawings of guests – a brilliant idea, because the book features a vengeful courtroom artist who tries to influence trials with her work…

Kate's book club with bestselling signed books and prizes

Reading… club class!

But I did manage to hang onto a couple so that I can offer them as competition prizes for my new free club – called Kate’s Book Club (yeah, I know, not the height of originality– but I prefer to use my imagination inventing stories…).

It’s free to join and all members will be automatically entered into prize draws to win SIGNED copies of both my limited edition proof AND one of my favourite contemporary pageturners. For the first draw, it’ll be a copy of CL Taylor’s gripping Sunday Times bestseller, The Fear.

In addition, members will get other exclusives – including the opening chapters of The Secrets You Hide. You can join here and of course, I won’t use it for anything but sharing news of great books.

This is Thriller…

Please say hello on social!
